— Better Health Now and for a Lifetime
When a first diagnosis of many diseases happens, the first recommendation is to help yourself with a change in lifestyle. This includes diet, exercise and stress reduction.
FirstLine Therapy (FLT) is a “therapeutic lifestyle program” that helps you to do that and in the process will help you live your life with more satisfaction and improve your health. FLT teaches you to make healthier choices every day that will enhance your health and help prevent disease.
Based in Science
FirstLine Therapy is based on extensive scientific research that helps patients with chronic diseases associated with aging and lifestyle choices.
High blood pressure
A theraputic lifestyle change is now recommended by leading health organizations as a primary therapy for individuals with many of the conditions listed above as well as for other health problems such as:
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
Conditions related to overweight and obesity
Other hormone related symptoms
Fundamentals of FirstLine Therapy
The path to optimal health begins with understanding how to implement healthy lifestyle behaviors. We use a whole foods modified mediterranean diet, regular physical activity, appropriate nutritional supplementation with condition-specific nutrients, stress management and proper sleep.
Getting started is easy!
To more accurately assess your changes, it’s important to get a good baseline of your current health condition. Your healthcare provider may perform a variety of health assessments including body composition testing (body fat versus lean muscle mass). And these are assessed regularly to help you see that the changes from changing your lifestyle are measurable.
What is a BIA?
Your provider will also request a Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis or Bioimpedance Analysis (BIA). This is a painless quick procedure that calculates your body composition and fluid compartments using an imperceptible electrical current passed through pads (similar to an EKG electrode) placed on one hand and foot as you lie comfortable clothed on an exam table. You can learn more about the test and preparation by reading our handout on the BIA.
The BIA is now available to all patients who might like to have detailed information about their body composition and fluid compartments. Please call the office to schedule an appointment.
For more BIA information, please see below.
